  • Project Transportation planning/ Transportation LEP’s


The company undertakes load plan calculations to assist clients and clearing and forwarding companies on load maximization and to calculate the exact number of truck loads required to uplift cargo project cargo.

The company could also assist in preparing a road transport logistics execution plan (LEP) in close liaison with client’s specific needs. A comprehensive analysis of the scope of logistics and equipment required to be positioned to discharge project cargo ex vessel- port of Mombasa, local transfer to temporary holding area, and onward loading and transportation to site. The LEP covers equipment required, load plans per truck and Truck turn around’s, teams required for quick & smooth vessel discharge operation and calculation of road transport transit times and delivery schedules ex Mombasa to site.


  • Out of Gauge special Escorts / Permit processing


Movement of any out of gauge consignment beyond a width of 3mtrs, and height of 3 meters or heavy pieces beyond weights of 40mt, or project cargo destined to remote locations.

For pieces or machinery beyond 3mtrs in width and 3mtrs in length require escorts under permits issued by the Kenya National Highway Authority, and company arranges provision of escort vehicles and crew accordingly.  However irregardless of the requirement by the Authority, the company assesses the actual escort requirement for safe transportation based on the route survey and for safe transportation purposes and avails escort vehicles and escort crew with full QHSE compliance and repair toolkits. The escort crew comprises of:-


  • Escort leader and driver
  • 1 fully equipped mechanic
  • 1 turn Man/ helpers


  • Project vessel discharge supervision


When a chartered or part chartered vessel arrives at the port of Mombasa, it is critical to have strong team in the port which supervises entire discharge and loading operations, coordinates truck planning before vessel arrival, truck turn around during vessel discharge, as the port of Mombasa is not equipped to handle project vessel storage, hence it is imperative to ensure entire consignment is directly discharged onto trucks and trailers for onward transfer to nominated holding area outside port of Mombasa.


  • Road surveys


Whilst company maintains a strong road survey data base based on past & current projects undertaken within East African region, some projects might require a more comprehensive overview due to the nature of the OOG Cargo or location site. Our project team with its team of specialists using GPS location cameras will undertake detailed route survey reports with photos and GPS locations, detailing road conditions, condition of bridges and dimensions, dimensions of overhead structures, highlighting any over head wires, and height from ground level, highlighting safe parking spots, and highlighting dangerous/ black spots enroute and highly populated areas enroute, and analyses of any culverts and obstacles enroute.


  • Out of Gauge lashing:


Prior to any movement of Out of Gauge consignments adequate lashing is always undertaken by our project team, and a lashing inspection report is issued with Photographs taken. All lashing material used by Sifa Investments Ltd is duly certified by Government of Kenya inspectors.


  • Internal Clearing and Forwarding:


Our sister company is East Global Logistics (K) Limited incorporated in Republic of Kenya and licensed (license no CUS /013531/13) by the Kenya revenue authority to handle clearing and forwarding of all Transit and local cargo. The company has a Transit bond of Usd 2 million and is registered with the Kenya international Freight forwarders Association.. The company clears cargo in Transit to Uganda, Rwanda, and North Eastern Congo,- Bukhavu, Beni, Bunia,, Juba, Wau, Bor, Nimule – South Sudan
